Job Summary:

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a Multidiscipline Planning and Environmental Consultancy who are looking for a Planning Director to join the team.

About the Role:

  • Lead the planning team and motivate, develop, and manage their performance to achieve business objectives.
  • Build and maintain existing client relationships and generate new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Project manage a mix of planning submissions and appeals, ensuring timely and successful outcomes.
  • Conduct strategic planning research and policy development, including assessments of development potential to inform business decisions.
  • Perform site inspections and assess the merits of proposals to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide guidance to engineers and architects on the production of drawings and supplemental planning information for planning submissions.
  • Take responsibility for the strategic management input of planning projects, including financial management to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Expand networks and establish relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities to foster collaboration and growth.

Requirements:

  • Chartered membership of The Royal Town Planning Institute or The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • At least 7 years' proven planning experience of large-scale planning projects across a range of sectors within the private sector.
  • At least 5 years' experience of leading and growing a planning team within a planning consultancy environment.
  • A track record of sustainable business generation and client base growth.
