About the Role

As a key member of our Commercial, Estimating, and Buying team at Construction Resources Limited, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial success of our construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and control costs, ensuring that our projects are completed within budget and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Control and Financial Reporting
    • Develop and implement cost control strategies to minimize expenses and maximize profitability.
    • Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Project Coordination
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Land, Development, and Construction, to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Attend design meetings to provide cost advice and ensure that project designs are feasible and cost-effective.
  • Contract Administration
    • Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors to ensure that terms are favorable to the company.
    • Manage and track subcontractor payments, ensuring that all work is completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Cost Analysis and Budgeting
    • Prepare and analyze cost estimates, including quotations and tender documentation.
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are accurately tracked and reported.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
    • Collaborate with the Customer Service department to resolve post-completion defects and provide cost advice as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Skills and Experience
    • Proven experience in quantity surveying, cost control, and financial reporting.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
    • Experience with cost reporting and document storage systems, such as COINS or Agresso.
