Accounting Expertise Ltd: Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant to join our team in Pimlico, London. Our client, a forward-thinking independent firm of Chartered Accountants, requires an individual with excellent technical knowledge of VAT and management accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients, including Owner Managed Businesses and charities.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of VAT principles and workings.
  • Produce periodic management accounts, including trial balances, cash flow statements, and client-specific reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
  • Work independently and unsupervised, adhering to client and statutory deadlines.
  • Liaise with clients to obtain books and records, and provide support to resolve queries and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the team and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Utilize software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage Line 50, with exposure to other client software packages.
Requirements:
  • At least 3-4 years of practice experience with a strong technical knowledge of VAT and management accounts.
  • Professional qualification such as AAT or equivalent by experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
