About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ordering and managing medicinal products to ensure cost-effectiveness and appropriateness.
  • Assessing the suitability for re-use of patients' own medication.
  • Providing medicines reconciliation services to ensure accurate and safe medication management.
  • Managing medicines at discharge to ensure continuity of care.
  • Working collaboratively with a diverse multidisciplinary team to achieve shared goals.
  • Supporting the dispensary by undertaking dispensing and accredited checking of prescriptions.
  • Contributing to stock control and cost-saving exercises to optimize pharmacy resources.
  • Providing patient counseling and education to promote medication adherence and understanding.

Requirements
  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • GPHC registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
