About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ordering cost-effective and appropriate supplies of medicinal products.
  • Assessing the suitability for re-use of patients' own medication.
  • Medicines Reconciliation.
  • Managing medicines at discharge.
  • Working within a diverse multidisciplinary team.
  • Supporting the dispensary by undertaking dispensing and accredited checking of prescriptions.
  • Stock control and cost saving exercises.
  • Patient counselling.

Requirements
  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • GPHC registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Willing to undertake accredited checking qualification.
  • Successful completion of a competency training package including: Labelling and dispensing of prescriptions.
  • Experience of using pharmacy based computer systems.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills demonstrable from previous experience working within pharmacy.
