Job Description

GE Vernova's Power Conversion business is seeking a skilled Drives Engineer to join our team. As a Drives Engineer, you will be responsible for performing, testing, and commissioning marine drive systems in support of new build, upgrade, and service-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with lead Field Service Engineers to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of GE drive systems at site locations.
  • Complete installation and wiring modifications to a high standard.
  • Maintain and repair drive and control equipment.
  • Prepare and submit installation, modification, and maintenance reports.
  • Review and understand project documentation, including instruction manuals, drawings, and procedures.
  • Adhere to Company and Customer EHS policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
  • Stay up-to-date with personal competence by completing all applicable training in line with company requirements.
  • Coordinate additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSEs, repair services, sales, and product engineering teams.
Requirements:
  • Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a reputable college or university or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with PC/PLC equipment.
  • Recognized Health and Safety training, including risk assessment.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for extended periods of time within the UK and abroad.
  • Willingness to work extended hours/overtime when required during peak periods and emergency circumstances.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR).
  • Valid Passport to Safety (PTS) training.
  • Flexible attitude to working pattern required.
  • Full Clean Driving license.
