Job Title: Connected Car Technology Validation Specialist
Location: Cranfield
Estimated Salary: £29.00 per hour (Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week)
About the Role:
Morson Talent is recruiting for a skilled Connected Car Validation Engineer to join a globally recognised automotive company. This long-term contract role offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge connected car technologies and contribute to innovative vehicle development.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End System Validation: Support the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test team in validating connected car telematics systems, including both on-board and off-board environments.
- Interoperability Testing: Perform interoperability testing of connected systems for functionality, performance, and reliability, ensuring compliance with design standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Test Planning: Create and implement test plans to meet project and design milestones.
- Vehicle Quality Assurance: Ensure vehicle-level quality, functionality, and reliability standards are maintained through system changes.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and troubleshoot complex vehicle concerns, including data logging and analysis.
- Testing Procedures: Develop testing procedures, scenarios, and reports in line with vehicle development schedules.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support for software management in both the vehicle manufacturing plant and the test fleet.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, project management, and engineering teams to manage concerns.
- Software Expertise: Experience in software programming and software quality assurance.
- Network Communications: Familiarity with vehicle ECU software application in manufacturing, including flashing, coding/configuration, and calibration.
- Bus Principles: Skilled in software risk assessment and the development of appropriate test plans.
- Version Validation: Experience validating multiple software versions and adapting validation activities as necessary.
- Communication Skills: Proficient in network communications and bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Data Analysis: Ability to operate CANalyzer, CANoe, Matlab, or similar software for data capture and analysis.
- Electrical Testing: Familiarity with digital oscilloscopes and basic electrical testing equipment.
Desirable Skills:
- Network Analyzers: Experience with network analysers and communication simulation tools.
- Circuit Diagrams: Ability to interpret system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
