Role Overview

Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting an experienced Family Support and Safeguarding Specialist to join the busy team at a Merton, London based Family Support and Safeguarding Team.

The Family Support and Safeguarding Specialist will be required to hold a caseload as well as work on safeguarding duty on a rota basis, therefore safeguarding duty experience is essential. The team consists of professionals with expertise in social work, occupational therapy, assessment, and home care.

  • Hybrid operations are implemented to ensure efficient collaboration.
  • A 4,500 welcome payment and market supplement of 2,000 per annum contribute to a competitive salary package.

  • The salary for this role is estimated at £42,795 - £45,834 per annum.

Primary Responsibilities

The Family Support and Safeguarding Specialist will act as an officer of the Local Authority, executing statutory functions to safeguard individuals and support them in achieving positive outcomes. This will involve working in partnership with people, other professionals, and agencies to intervene and promote social change, maximise independence, and provide appropriate information and advice.

  • The Family Support and Safeguarding Specialist will apply professional curiosity and use social work theories and knowledge to formulate and test hypotheses, reaching a professional judgement and decision.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have valid SWE registration and an enhanced DBS issued within 12 months. You should also have a minimum of two references available to view, with at least one reference from your current/most recent employer. Additionally, you must have all employment history, be a qualified social worker with experience of working within a cared for children's team or a safeguarding children's team with any gaps verified.

  • Social Work England registration is essential.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is mandatory.
  • A full UK license is required.
  • Post-qualified experience is necessary.
  • A degree level or equivalent in Social Work is required.
