About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at SLB in Cambridge, England. As a key member of our research team, you will contribute to the development of new technologies and advanced materials for sustainable mineral extraction and water treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct literature and patent reviews to identify emerging trends and opportunities in electrochemical technologies and materials.
    • Design and perform experiments, analyze and interpret experimental data to drive novel research into new technologies.
    • Lead the development of new technologies in the mineral extraction and water treatment spaces, collaborating with the project supervisor and technical community.
    • Engage with the SLB technical community, publishing research in scientific journals, writing patent applications, presenting to stakeholders, and attending conferences and customer meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
    • Research experience in electrochemical technologies, such as electrolyzers, fuel cells, flow batteries, electrodialysis, or similar.
    • OR: Research experience in desalination, hydrometallurgy, water treatment, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, brine processing, mineral extraction, ion separation, membrane separation, or similar.
    • Experience with the design and construction of experimental rigs for fluids research.
    • Bonus: practical experience with electrochemical cells, operation, fabrication, or modification.
    • Bonus: experience with advanced characterization techniques such as ICP, SEM, XPS, NMR.
    • Bonus: experience with scientific programming software such as Python, MATLAB, LabView.
