Music Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Music Teacher to join our vibrant schools in Greenwich, Lambeth, and Southwark. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to a school culture that promotes inclusivity, creativity, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver inspiring Music lessons to secondary or post-16 students, fostering a deep appreciation for music and developing their musical skills.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and tailor teaching strategies to meet individual learning objectives.
  • Create a classroom environment that accommodates diverse learning styles and encourages student participation and creativity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share innovative teaching practices and contribute to the school's extracurricular programmes, including music clubs and performances.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain the highest educational standards and practices in music education.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
  • Experience in teaching Music is preferred, but newly qualified teachers (NQTs) are also encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and engage students through effective teaching methods in music.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment.
  • A profound passion for Music and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
