The Role

This role will be based within the Project Engineering Department at our manufacturing facility. The full-time working hours are 35 per week and the annual salary is £20,253.

During your apprenticeship, you will be released to attend college on a day-release basis, working towards your Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician qualification.

The primary purpose of this apprenticeship is to provide the apprentice with a comprehensive understanding of both maintenance and project engineering. This will be achieved through hands-on maintenance work, academic study, and active involvement in project management tasks, thereby developing a well-rounded skill set in engineering practices.

The role will encompass a formal time-served apprenticeship and is expected to lead onto formal engineering and project management qualifications (APM qualifications, HNC, HND/Degree Apprenticeship – In an engineering discipline).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing engineering projects.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute ideas for improvements.
  • Support the implementation of production improvements and new machine installations.
  • Help manage building and infrastructure projects.
  • Track project progress and report to the Site Engineering Project Manager.
  • Assist with contractor management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C/Level 4 or above including English, Maths, and Science.
  • AS/A levels or a qualification in an engineering-related discipline would be of an advantage for this role.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
