Clinical Role:
As a Clinical Psychiatric Specialist at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, you will be primarily responsible for managing patients with complex mental health needs. This includes established diagnoses of psychotic illness, bipolar affective disorder, major depression, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders. Your clinical work will be based in a clinic setting, but you may also be required to see patients at their homes. Your responsibilities will include undertaking assessments, diagnosing and formulating management plans, providing management in treatment-resistant and complex presentations, and assessing and managing risk.
Leadership Role:
You will be expected to lead clinical decision-making in multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. This will involve engaging with service transformation programmes and attending consultant meetings.
Educational Role:
You will provide clinical supervision for trainees in gaining core psychiatric experience and achieving competencies in core general psychiatry.
