We are seeking a highly skilled Special Education Needs and Disability Team Lead to join our dedicated team at Wirral Borough Council. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

About the Role

This challenging yet rewarding role requires someone who is passionate about SEND and has a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding this area. As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the coordination, management, delivery, and effectiveness of the locality team. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that we meet our statutory duties under Part 3 of the Children & Families Act 2014 by developing high-quality and timely Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have a thorough knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and subordinate legislation, as well as experience in writing person-centred plans and preparing reports based on these issues. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with parents, carers, schools, and other agencies. A DBS check will be required for this position, and you must have the right to work in the UK.
