Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Delivery Director to lead our engineering team in delivering high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, experience in managing cross-functional teams, and a proven track record of delivering successful projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and direction to the engineering team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they meet the required quality and functionality standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to define project requirements, set team objectives, and deliver valuable software solutions.
  • Risk Management: Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks and issues as they arise, ensuring the project stays on track and meets its objectives.
  • Communication: Ensure team members understand project requirements and expectations, and stakeholders are informed of project progress and any issues that may arise.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with:

  • Software Engineering Experience: A strong background in software engineering, with experience in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
  • Project Management Experience: Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and delivering successful projects.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban, and a solid understanding of management tools such as JIRA, Trello, and Git.

Preferred Skills

You'll be better suited to this role if you have:

  • DevOps Experience: Experience with DevOps practices and associated technologies such as Kubernetes, microservices, and Google Cloud.
  • Generalist Skills: An understanding of the guiding practices and principles in areas such as front-end and back-end engineering, UX design, testing, and DevOps.
  • Entrepreneurial Skills: The ability to identify opportunities to create value and advocate for their prioritization.
