We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Gardener to lead our team at Mount Stewart, one of the National Trust's most exceptional gardens. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and caring for the garden, as well as providing access and enjoyment for visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of gardeners and volunteers to maintain the garden to the highest standards
  • Develop and implement plans to improve the garden's sustainability and conservation
  • Work closely with the General Manager to achieve the garden's goals and objectives
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Significant practical experience in horticulture, supported by appropriate qualifications
  • Sound and extensive plant knowledge and plant husbandry skills
  • Great leadership skills with experience of managing and supporting teams
  • Experience of personal contribution to the development and delivery of interventions and/or programming within gardens
