Corporate Banking Manager Job Description

The Corporate Banking Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of Trustmark Corporation's Corporate Banking unit. This strategic position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record of achieving corporate banking goals, expanding market share, and developing high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Lead staff to accomplish division and corporate goals through loan growth, fees, deposits, cash management services, and cross-selling to other product lines.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Expand and monitor customer relationships through referrals and quality service of the department.
  • Business Development: Conduct business calls to customers and prospects individually and with staff to provide quality customer service, trust, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Loan Application Review: Review loan applications for compliance and company policies regarding income, assets, credit history, and other factors.
  • Market Strategies: Develop and execute market strategies for market growth and retention.
  • Market Intelligence: Keep abreast of changes in the marketplace that could impact the client's business and actively communicate those changes.
  • Staff Development: Provide coaching and training to staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Cross-Selling: Explore opportunities and recommend strategies for cross-selling of products and services based on an understanding of the client's analysis and needs.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Community Involvement: Participate in community involvement initiatives.
  • Credit Risk Management: Maintain sound credit risk practices.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Four-year college education.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in middle market and corporate banking lending or equivalent.
  • Portfolio Management: Minimum 8 years of proven experience effectively managing an individual loan portfolio.
  • Market Knowledge: Extensive experience in the local market.
  • Compliance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of compliance laws and regulations.
  • Capital Market Solutions: Extensive knowledge of capital market solutions and loan syndications.
  • Credit Analysis: Enhanced knowledge of pricing models, profitability forecasting, and credit analysis practice and procedure.
  • Supervisory Experience: Supervisory/management experience.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • Communication Skills: Oral and written skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Analytical skills.
  • Underwriting Skills: Middle market and corporate banking underwriting skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills.
