Job Title: Senior/Principal Highways Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Highways Engineer to join our dynamic Highways team at Ramboll. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading design packages and projects, engaging with other disciplines, clients, and site teams, and working collaboratively to deliver high-quality results.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design teams to deliver work packages and projects.
  • Line Management and mentoring for junior members of the team.
  • Drive technical excellence and help junior team members to grow as highway professionals.
  • Design and project management.
  • Undertake design checks and technical reviews.
  • Act as a highways technical lead on design tasks and packages.
  • Undertake financial arrangements for projects including fee forecasting and change control.
  • Apply and promote policies relating to Sustainability and Health and Safety.
  • Provide guidance, instruct, motivate, and manage staff.
  • Prepare bids and contract documentation.
  • Establish relationships with individuals from other organisations, generate market intelligence and new business opportunities.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Principal Highways Engineer who possesses a strong background in highways design, project management, and leadership. You will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results, leading teams, and mentoring junior staff. You will also have a good working knowledge of highways design guidance, the DMRB, and MCHW, as well as experience in the delivery of Local Authority and/or National Highways projects.
