About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as an Autism Specialist Support Worker at Academics. In this role, you will work closely with students on the autistic spectrum, supporting them in developing independence and life skills.

The school provides education to students between the ages of 4-19 with additional needs and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our state-of-the-art facilities include science laboratories, food technology rooms, construction areas, computer suites, sensory and therapy spaces, and outdoor and indoor playgrounds.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-to-one support to students to develop life skills and independence
  2. Encourage effective communication techniques to improve interaction skills and build connections
  3. Create a safe and inclusive environment for students to express themselves

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of autism/ASD and its impact on individuals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for advocating for students with autism

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 3:30

Location: Swindon, Wiltshire

Estimated Salary: £87,500 per annum (based on £80-£95 per day)
