1:1 Tutor for Children in Care

Omega Tutoring is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 outreach tutor to support children in care, students with special educational needs, and excluded pupils in the Chatham area.
Job Summary:We are looking for a tutor who can work on a 1:1 basis with students aged 5-16, providing tailored support to help them overcome educational challenges. The successful candidate will deliver sessions with a focus on English and Maths, adapting their approach to meet the unique needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions to students in their homes or local libraries
- Work with students who may have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour and/or SEN difficulties
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans to support students working below age-related expectations
- Collaborate with the Omega Tutoring team to ensure consistent and high-quality support for students
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and/or behaviour difficulties
- Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
This is a part-time, temporary contract with the potential for ongoing work. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexible hours, including Monday to Friday, with a minimum rate of pay of £20 per hour.
