Job Title: Event Director

Are you a seasoned event professional looking for a new challenge? Do you have a passion for delivering seamless and memorable events? We're seeking an experienced Event Director to join our team at American Express Global Business Travel.

About the Role

The Event Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of events, from sourcing and logistics to financial management and delivery. You will work closely with clients to ensure their goals are met and deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end project management of national and international events
  • Negotiation with suppliers to secure the best rates and conditions
  • Communication with meeting owners to ensure their needs are met
  • Leadership and management of project teams
  • Operational management of event databases and registration systems
  • Accurate and timely data management and reporting
  • Logistical coordination of events, including transportation and accommodation
  • Maximizing revenue per event and understanding overall contribution to revenue and P&L
  • Budget reconciliation and financial management
  • Sound company product knowledge and ability to cross-sell products
  • Analytical reasoning and data analysis for future event delivery
  • On-site management and delivery of events
  • Financial and data reporting per event and per client
  • Pitching and new business proposals
  • Supporting creative teams in concept development and delivery
Requirements
  • Fluent business English and additional languages a benefit
  • Customer care excellence and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Mail Merge, Pivot tables, and Access
  • Proficiency in Cvent and/or Lanyon (Starcite) for data entry, eRFP, reporting, and budget management
  • GDS: Group and individual reservations (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo)
  • Minimum 7 years experience in event management
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Able to work well in a team and under pressure
  • High level of attention to detail and willingness to travel
