Job Description:

We are looking for an Empathetic Companion Volunteer to join our team at Brainkind Neurological Centre York. As an Empathetic Companion Volunteer, you will be working closely with individuals who have acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions.

About the Role:

This is an opportunity to develop a supportive relationship based on trust and understanding with individuals who need it most. You will be visiting individuals in their homes or centres, providing companionship, and engaging in activities that promote social interaction and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide regular one-to-one companionship to individuals with acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions
  • Engage in activities that promote social interaction and well-being, such as going for walks or playing games
  • Develop a supportive relationship based on trust and understanding
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be empathetic and understanding, and be able to maintain confidentiality. You will also need to undergo relevant checks and training.

Salary: £11-£14 per hour (dependent on experience)
