Senior Gynaecological Oncologist

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Gynaecological Oncologist to join our Gynaecological Oncology service. This is a fixed-term post for 6-12 months, and the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the service to ensure compliance with cancer waiting times targets.
The post holder will join a team of 4 other permanent gynaecological oncologists and a substantial wider MDT structure. The main responsibilities of the post include:
- Supporting the gynaecological oncology service to ensure compliance with cancer waiting times targets
- Supporting the colposcopy service and associated multidisciplinary team to ensure compliance with national targets
- Maximising efficiency of surgical pathways incorporating pre-operative optimisation, in-patient flow, enhanced recovery and liaison with the peri-operative medicine team
- Providing an efficient and responsive surgical service for the North Central London cancer network
- Participating in research, education and audit within the department of gynaecological oncology
The post will comprise 10 PAs each week, including outpatient clinics and a weekly operating list. The post holder will also be required to carry out supporting clinical work, including in-patient ward rounds, and participate in the gynaecology on-call rota. They will be expected to maintain competency in the management of ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage, as well as other gynaecological emergencies.
