Job Description

Driver Hire, a leading specialist transport and logistics recruitment company, is seeking a number of Class 2 Drivers to support our local clients with their temporary staffing needs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform multi-drop and collection work daily across the geographical region of the depot.
  • Carry out manual handling and loading of products.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
  • Provide excellent customer service as you will be customer-facing when carrying out deliveries.
  • Work independently and unsupervised, managing your routing to ensure planned collections are achieved while showing effective communication with the transport team.
  • Conduct daily safety checks on the vehicle and equipment while following health and safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Valid driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
  • ADR or HIAB qualification (please indicate on your CV or cover letter).
  • No more than 6 points for minor offences (no DD, DR, or IN endorsements).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good organisation skills.
Hours, Pay, and Benefits
  • Minimum of 8 hours per day (full day) or 4 hours (half day).
  • £17.50 per hour - Mondays to Fridays (dependent on assignment).
  • Enhanced rates available at weekends and bank holidays.
  • Rates are PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay, and paid on a weekly basis.
