Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Information Officer to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and supporting workstreams as part of our EPR implementation project, working closely with the Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) and Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO).

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and a passion for digital transformation. They will be responsible for ensuring nursing adoption and engagement in the use of technology, driving continuous clinical process improvement, and developing clinical information that supports and enhances nursing practice and organisational efficiency.

Main Duties
  • Lead and support workstreams as part of the EPR implementation project
  • Work closely with the CNIO and CCIO to develop and implement digital solutions that support nursing practice
  • Ensure nursing adoption and engagement in the use of technology
  • Drive continuous clinical process improvement in the Nursing and Midwifery divisions
  • Develop clinical information that supports and enhances nursing practice and organisational efficiency

Person Specification
  • Relevant professional/clinical qualification (RN)
  • First level degree in related healthcare discipline
  • Evidence of a Master's degree relevant to role or equivalent experience
  • Teaching/Mentorship qualification
  • Clinical Safety Officer Practitioner or willingness to undertake
Knowledge and Experience
  • In-depth understanding of the national digital agenda and Guidance for Nursing on What Good Looks Like (WGLL) Framework
  • In-depth understanding of the relevance of high-quality data
  • Up to date and evidence-based knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
  • In-depth understanding of the unified vision of nursing and midwifery documentation and ability to apply the findings to improve patient care
  • Strong analytical, technical knowledge and problem-solving skills relating to IT systems
  • Experience in MDT working and experience at 8a Level
Previous Experience and Skills
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience in teaching and assessing in all clinical areas
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Project management and change management experience
