Job Summary

In line with Island Health's strategic objectives, this role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation of clinical applications and driving the adoption of electronic health records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage a team of staff responsible for providing clinical application support and development within a healthcare environment.
  • Provide expert knowledge and leadership to advise IM/IT staff and project teams on the operational aspects of clinical documentation components within Cerner PowerChart and related applications.
QualificationsEducation and Experience

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Health Information Sciences, Nursing, or Computer Science is required. Additionally, five years of experience in application support, design, build, and testing within a healthcare setting are necessary.

Skills and Abilities
  • Supervisory skills with ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond to the needs of various stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of clinical issues related to the integration of computer technology into the care process.
  • Familiarity with current privacy practices and the ability to handle sensitive corporate and personnel information.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation, interviewing, facilitating, and negotiating skills.
  • Proven experience in planning, directing, and controlling projects.
Compensation and Benefits

This role comes with an estimated salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
