About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric Respiratory Team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing assessment, treatment, and advice to critically ill children in our paediatric respiratory service.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within the Paediatric Team at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital trust to provide assessment, treatment, and advice to paediatric patients with respiratory problems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, specialist medical staff, and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal care and maintain accurate records.
- Undertake specialist assessments, carry out diagnostic procedures, and interpret results for paediatric patients with multifaceted respiratory and rehabilitation problems.
- Support non-respiratory staff caring for patients with respiratory problems, using investigative and analytical skills.
Service Development
- Propose and implement policy changes that impact on all service users, ensuring quality standards and effectiveness of patient care.
- Ensure junior staff, students, and assistants implement policy and service developmental changes.
Person Specification
- Essential:
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration in physiotherapy
- Desirable:
- Postgraduate course(s) in relevant subject
Previous Experience
- Completed core rotations in acute respiratory, orthopaedics, neurology, and outpatients.
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Evidence of continuing professional development maintained in a portfolio.
- Experience of supervising students.
Skills/Knowledge/Ability
- Knowledge of recent practice issues and research.
- Able to present information, written and orally, in a clear and logical manner, adapting to children of all ages and adults.
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills, self-motivated.
- Good listening skills and interpersonal skills.
