Quantum Computing Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our Trapped Ions Quantum Computing Team as a Quantum Computing Researcher. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of ion trap quantum computing systems, as well as software and experimental control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimise ion trap quantum computing systems
- Contribute to software and experimental control systems
- Communicate progress and discuss results with NQCC scientists
- Represent the NQCC at STFC and external events with commercial and academic partners and collaborators
- Achieved, or be on course to achieve, a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant field of study
- Have the right to live and work in the UK at time of starting employment
- Demonstrable interest in quantum science and technology
- Experience in working in a laboratory, particularly with optics, lasers, or high-voltage supplies
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Experience working in a team and able to demonstrate autonomy within their area of responsibility
- Experience in programming in Python (or similar languages)
