About the Role

At Colas Rail, we are seeking a skilled Freight Train Driver to join our team. As a Freight Train Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of freight trains on the LNE - Doncaster/Newcastle/North Lincs route.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate freight trains in accordance with laid down procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensure the safety of the line, employees, and the public.
  • Undertake locomotive preparation and disposal duties, and fuel locomotives when required.
  • Perform in-service locomotive, train faultfinding, and assist in repairs where competent.
  • Record and report locomotive and train defects in accordance with Rulebook and Company Procedures.

Requirements

  • Appropriate traction knowledge.
  • Freight rules & regulations.
  • Basic wagon knowledge.
  • Personal Track Safety.
  • Current route knowledge for the LNE Region is advantageous.
