We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team at Build People. As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading our design team and providing technical support for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the design team and workload, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Liaise with internal and external resources to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Develop and implement design strategies to improve and innovate our design processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and project management teams.
- Develop and manage design programs and information flows to ensure seamless integration with project timelines.
- Review and ensure compliance with contract requirements and due diligence.
- Research and stay up-to-date with current trends, materials, and design ideas to offer alternative solutions and challenge existing approaches.
- Manage design change controls and ensure changes are recorded and communicated effectively.
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and consultants to ensure effective design and project delivery.
- Ensure adherence to HSQE standards, operating processes, company policies, and legislative requirements.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and manage design relationships between the company, clients, consultants, and statutory bodies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a design lead with relevant design qualifications.
- Excellent client service focus and previous client-facing experience.
- Thorough knowledge of current design methods, techniques, and practices.
- Ability to influence and manage resources, clients, and other disciplines, as well as manage programs and costs.
