About the Opportunity
GSL Education is seeking a skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support young children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment.
Job Summary
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons aligned with the EYFS framework.
- Assist in planning and implementing activities that stimulate children's learning and development.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with SEN, fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
- Observe, assess, and document children's progress and development, contributing to the planning of their educational pathways.
- Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive, safe, and productive atmosphere.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals to provide cohesive support tailored to individual needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience working in an EYFS setting, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and learning strategies.
- Proven SEN experience with the ability to adapt teaching methods and provide specialist support.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, or similar educational background.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to work effectively with young learners.
- A competitive salary of £85-90 per day, depending on experience, and opportunities for professional development and career growth.
