About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Technical Safety Assurance Manager to join our team at M Group Services. As the Head of Installation Services Safety, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of our Installation Services operating unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure that all contracts conform to statutory requirements and company policies/procedures.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure that contracts comply with the requirements of our COMCoP, OAMI, and Gas Safe accreditations.
  • Reporting and Performance Monitoring: Ensure that all company reporting requirements are adhered to and monitor overall contract performance, identifying areas of underperformance and taking timely action to rectify.
  • Safety Governance: Lead internal safety governance processes and provide performance reporting at operational and client levels.
  • Supplier Management: Ensure that all suppliers/subcontractors are procured in line with IS/Contract SHEQ requirements.
  • Incident Management: Manage investigations, root-cause analysis of incidents, and close out of recommendations to prevent reoccurrence in line with IS/Client SLA.
  • Technical Bulletins: Produce and distribute technical and SHEQ bulletins.
  • Metering SHEQ Inductions: Manage all metering SHEQ inductions.
  • Contract SHEQ Plans: Develop and update Contract SHEQ Plans.
  • Office Safety: Maintain office 'Site Occupiers Log' and statutory Health and Safety within premise.
  • Authorisation Process: Manage IS Authorisation process for technical activities and annual log of reviews/PDRs.
  • Contract Personnel Management: Manage contract personnel's competence, training plans, and toolbox talk/briefing schedules.
  • Auditing: Audit internal contract processes to ensure compliance with legal/IS/client requirements.
  • Plant and Equipment Maintenance: Manage plant and equipment maintenance and testing compliance (e.g. ladder inspections, PAT testing, etc.).
  • Resource Management: Collate resource working hours for IS/Client reporting purposes.
  • SHEQ Targets and Objectives: Develop annual SHEQ Targets and Objectives through the production of the contract action plan.
  • Compliance and Auditing Operations: Ensure that compliance and auditing operations are effectively resourced and trained in line with contract objectives/targets and that key personnel are retained and developed.
  • Field Auditing Resources: Develop and implement a strategy for the recruitment and training of competent field auditing resources to deliver the contract requirements.
  • Performance Management: Set and manage performance objectives for those resources you are responsible for.
  • Job Profiles: Develop and maintain job profiles for resources you are responsible for.
  • Client Liaison: Key liaison point for clients SHEQ contacts.
Requirements
  • SHEQ Management Experience: Minimum of 5 years SHEQ management experience in utility/metering contracting or similar environment.
  • NEBOSH Qualification: NEBOSH qualified.
  • Person-Management Abilities: Proven person-management abilities and motivational skills, gained in SHEQ roles within the utility/metering sector.
  • Management and Professional Qualifications: Relevant management and professional SHEQ qualifications.
  • Project Management Experience: Experience in project management.
  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Proven high-level communication and negotiation skills.
  • Health, Safety, and Quality Management: Understanding of health, safety, and quality management.
  • Commercial and Strategic Awareness: High degree of commercial/strategic awareness.
  • Statutory Framework: Good appreciation of statutory framework in contracting law, health and safety law, employment law, etc.
  • Client and Customer Focus: Strong client and customer focus.
  • Driving Licence: Hold a driving licence.
  • Risk Management: Ability to identify business risks and design/implement mitigation plans.
