About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Neurophysiology Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a highly specialised clinical technical service, including planning, performing and interpreting a range of basic and advanced highly complex neurophysiological investigations. This will involve working independently to deliver Nerve conduction studies (NCS) and Electromyography (EMG), as well as preparing patients for routine electroencephalogram (EEG) recording in a dedicated environment.

Our ideal candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in specific speciality and experience of working on own and in a team in a healthcare environment. They will also possess highly developed manual dexterity to perform specialised diagnostics tests and be proficient in IT, including database/word/Presentation software.

Job Specification
  • Provide a highly specialised clinical technical service, including planning, performing and interpreting a range of basic and advanced highly complex neurophysiological investigations.
  • Prepare patients for routine EEG recording in a dedicated environment, on wards and intensive care unit (ICUs), including head measurement and the application of electrodes.
  • Contribute to the development of service and quality improvement initiatives within a collaborative framework to enhance patient experience and outcome.
Person Specification
  • Professional Healthcare Registration with a UK Regulatory Body (AHCS).
  • Post Graduate Qualification in specific speciality.
  • Knowledge of the national and local NHS healthcare agenda and its implications.
  • Service Development experience.
  • Experience of working on own and in a team in a health care environment delegating to others within a team/providing supervision to others.

The salary for this role is £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working hours, professional development opportunities, and a supportive work environment.
