Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest and background in orthopaedics to join our team at the Animal Trust clinic in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

This role involves leading our orthopaedic service, handling a mix of elective and non-elective cases, and providing expert care in a dynamic environment.

This position is suited for professionals eager to advance their skills in a supportive setting that emphasizes community and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the orthopaedic service, managing a diverse caseload including cruciate repairs (TPLO/CCWO, with opportunities to upskill in TPLO if primarily experienced with TTA), patella luxations, and simple to complex fractures.
  • Perform surgeries and consultations, contributing to the high standards of care provided at our clinic.
  • Support the continuous development of orthopaedic practices within the clinic, ensuring the integration of the latest techniques and treatments.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon, ideally with a post-graduate certificate in small animal surgery or extensive practical experience in orthopaedic surgery.
  • Confident performing advanced surgical procedures, particularly in TPLO, CCWO, and fracture management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information to pet owners and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • A commitment to professional development and a passion for veterinary excellence.
