About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Shop Manager to join our team at Wenzel's The Bakers. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for assisting the Shop Manager in leading, training, and working alongside our hardworking team.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Shop Manager in managing and controlling all aspects of the shop.
  • Train, lead, and develop the team to ensure store schedules and objectives are met.
  • Provide excellent customer service and create an inviting experience for customers.
  • Receive and check daily deliveries, manage branch stock and produce, and maintain shop displays.
  • Have excellent knowledge and understanding of products, prepare food in line with the specification, and maintain the highest level of hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Cash handling, till operation, and banking, as well as opening or closing the shop when required.
Requirements:
  • Experience with team leading or supervising within food service or a retail setting.
  • A good communicator with a track record of success in previous roles.
  • Able to take responsibility within a fast-paced environment and provide high levels of customer service.
