We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Fylde Coast Home Based Treatment Team (HBTT), based at The Gateway, Blackpool FC Stadium. This is a full-time position with a 10PA contract.

Job Overview

The postholder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a 24/7 service for people in the Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre area aged 16 years old or above who have moderate to complex or serious mental health problems. Our main emphasis is on preventing hospital admission where appropriate, unnecessary detentions, and attendances at A&E departments.

This involves conducting clinics and home visits for patients referred to and under the care of the HbTT. We are committed to providing holistic support to service users within their own homes and remaining in the community as per evidence-based practice.

Main Duties
  • Assess and manage patients' mental health needs, working holistically to prevent hospital admissions and promote community-based care.
  • Conduct clinics and home visits, providing individualized care and support to patients and their families.
  • Participate in the Consultant On Call rota, ensuring timely response to urgent situations and providing additional remuneration.
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • Full GMC registration and Licence to Practise
  • On GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months
  • Section 12 approved or within 3 months
  • AC status or within 3 months
Salary and Benefits

We offer an attractive salary package, including a Recruitment & Retention Premia, in addition to the basic salary. You can expect a salary around £83,000-£113,000 depending on your experience and qualifications.

In addition, you will be entitled to a study leave budget of £3000 over 3 years or up to £5000 over 3 years for newly qualified Consultants. There are also opportunities to become a clinical supervisor and participate in Medical Education programs.
