Job Description

**Job Title:** Therapy Animal Hospice Support Specialist

**Estimated Salary:** £20,000 - £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

This role provides a vital service to patients in need of emotional support and comfort. As a Therapy Animal Hospice Support Specialist, you will be responsible for visiting patients on the wards with your certified therapy animal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visiting patients on the wards as agreed with their therapy animal
  • Reporting to wards for note of patients to visit/not visit
  • Providing emotional support and comfort to patients
  • Collaborating with hospice staff and volunteers to deliver a high-quality patient experience

Requirements:

  • Understanding of the work and values of St Columba's Hospice
  • Membership of Canine Concern Scotland Trust and/or Pets as Therapy UK
  • Interview with Volunteer Services Manager & Complementary Therapy Coordinator
  • PVG membership (Protected Adults)
