Job Title: Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator to join our Organisational Development team at Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering our EDI programme, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the Service.

About the Role:

This is a permanent position, based at Joint Headquarters, Sherwood Lodge, Arnold, Nottingham, NG5 8PP. You will work 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday) and be open to discussing part-time or job-share arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage key performance indicators for the EDI agenda and maintain assurance against the Public Sector Equality Duty.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of EDI policies and practice.
  • Provide advice and support to managers on EDI issues.
  • Facilitate consultation events with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining our links with other organisations and developing partnerships with local, regional, and national partners.
  • Promote NFRS as an employer of choice and aid in the development of the Service's workforce diversity plan.
  • Plan and deliver EDI training courses to the Service.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a customer-facing environment, running projects, and providing EDI advice to colleagues and managers.
  • Ability to undertake equality impact assessments and produce complex written reports.
  • Experience developing and writing EDI policies.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, which you can utilise to speak to a variety of different audiences and provide training to staff.
  • Knowledge and experience using MS Office applications.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and other related legislation.
  • A degree (or other equivalent qualification or experience).
