Job Title:

Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Education

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Education to join our team at UK Management College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and curriculum development, student assessment and support, research and scholarship, and networking and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Curriculum Development:
  • Deliver engaging lectures and seminars across core healthcare modules, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Develop and revise curriculum materials to meet the needs of diverse students and improve learning outcomes.
  • Apply varied teaching techniques to address complex student needs and promote academic excellence.
  • Student Assessment & Support:
  • Supervise student projects, internships, and field placements, providing timely feedback to support student development.
  • Act as a personal tutor, supporting students academically and pastorally, and connecting them to additional resources as needed.
  • Research & Scholarship:
  • Engage in scholarly activities that contribute to the field of healthcare education, publishing findings that impact teaching and practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on research projects, seeking funding for initiatives and supporting knowledge exchange activities.
  • Networking & Partnerships:
  • Establish and maintain links with healthcare providers for student placements, research, and community projects.
  • Represent the institution in conferences and networks relevant to healthcare education and research.
  • Administrative & Quality Assurance:
  • Handle academic duties such as student admissions, timetabling, and assessment records, ensuring compliance with quality assurance guidelines.
  • Contribute to program reviews and accreditation processes, promoting continuous improvement.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in healthcare or a related discipline; a PhD is preferred or equivalent industry expertise.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to pursue one; a PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education is desirable.
  • Experience:
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching or training in healthcare at the higher education level.
  • Practical experience within the healthcare sector is preferred.
  • Evidence of research engagement and publication is advantageous.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
  • Capable of handling complex situations related to student needs with sensitivity.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
