Job Title: Engineering Leader

Location: Leeds Factory (Site based)

JOB PURPOSE

The Engineering Leader is responsible for providing operational engineering support to all areas of the Factory to meet performance levels via sustainable improvements in engineering standards and equipment reliability. They will ensure improvements are maintained by revision/training/changes in manufacturing procedures/practices along with coaching and developing technical engineering practices. The Engineering Leader will lead RCA to reduce/remove equipment failure.

  • Owns Site Safety Programmes, such as Machinery Safety, Process Safety, Contractor Safety, Isolation awareness, Engineering workshop management, Permit to work, Complex Management, etc.
  • Has a full understanding of all Quality Procedures relevant to equipment performance, and a basic understanding of all others within the operation. Works on quality-related losses in conjunction with the Quality and Cell Teams.
  • Cooperates with Cell teams and works on continuous performance (OLE) improvements.
  • Manages and delivers low and medium size projects in their responsibility area as part of EEM Pillar.
  • Owns the alignment with Cost Deployment and manages R&M cost.
  • Manages the engineering stores to ensure that the site's spare parts inventory is adequate for the operation.
  • Leads & manages the team and the shift engineers in your area of responsibility.
  • Manages the engineering apprenticeship program from recruitment to completion.

ALL ABOUT YOU

Skills Required:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Engineering related subject.
  • Engineering degree and institution membership desirable.
  • Able to work as part of a wider team and share best practices to help other teams.
  • Comfortable in challenging status quo, unsafe behaviours and processes.

Personal Qualities:

  • Self-motivated, positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability of teaching/coaching basic problem-solving tools at all levels.
