AXA XL, the P&C Specialty risk division of AXA, is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to lead our Political Risk and Crisis Management claims team in the UK & Lloyds market.
About the Role:We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Claims Manager. As a Claims Manager, you will be responsible for the technical management of Political Risks claims and oversight of Crisis Management claims. You will work closely with our Underwriting, Actuarial, and key stakeholders to provide expert guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities:- Technical management of Political Risks claims and oversight of Crisis Management claims
- Part of the broader Specialty Claims Leadership team and Extended Claims Leadership team delivering on key priorities aligned to the UK & Lloyd's strategy
- Resource allocation and workload within the team
- Performance oversight of direct reports, including setting SMART objectives, performance reviews, and career development
- Operational effectiveness of the team and compliance with key performance indicators and operational controls
- Control of a portfolio of claims in accordance with agreed authority and Claims Handler Guidelines
- Oversight and direction to the team related to coverage analysis, investigation, defence, evaluation, reserving, and resolution of a book of product-specific claims
- Appropriate governance over large losses and liaison with the Global Practice Leader and Actuarial
- Key contact for Political Risk and Crisis Management Underwriting, Actuarial, and key stakeholders in connection with claims trends and insights, lessons learned, marketing, and business development
- Support the development and execution of the broker and client engagement strategy for Political Risks and Crisis Management claims
- Represent AXA XL at market committees and large loss market meetings
- Advanced knowledge of Political Risk and Crisis Management Claims
- Leading the market on large/complex losses, providing support to Underwriters, and discussing claims issues directly with clients
- Delivering prompt, fair, innovative, and accurate claims service, enhancing strong broker and client relationships
- Strong people management skills
- Familiarity with both Lloyd's and Company Market, systems, and protocols
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to execute plans
