Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in our secondary school setting.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Assisting Students with Learning Tasks: Ensure students with SEN have full access to the curriculum and educational resources.
  2. One-on-One Support: Provide personalized support to students with specific learning needs, helping them overcome challenges and achieve academic progress.
  3. Collaboration with Teachers: Work with teachers and other support staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and create a tailored learning experience for each student.
  4. Supporting Social and Emotional Development: Foster positive relationships within the school community and encourage students to develop social and emotional skills.
  5. Creating a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
  6. Encouraging Independence: Promote independence and self-confidence among students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN is advantageous but not essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting young learners with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, teachers, and parents effectively.
  • The ability to adapt and be flexible in responding to the individual needs of students.
  • A passion for fostering the academic and personal development of students with SEN.
