We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Science Specialist to join our team at Science Solutions Recruitment. As a Composite Materials Expert, you will play a key role in developing and leading test programs for the qualification of composite materials for aerospace applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Qualifications Team: Scrutinize unexpected results, eliminate errors, and improve procedures to ensure the highest quality standards.
- Develop Test Programs: Design and lead test programs for the qualification of composite materials, including prepregs, for aerospace applications.
- Project Management: Manage projects efficiently within strict timeframes and negotiate plans for specific projects within the team.
- Risk Management: Anticipate risks, future challenges, and opportunities for improvement, making recommendations within the team and wider business.
- Team Development: Actively contribute to team development through coaching of junior engineers.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
- Experience: Significant experience working with composite materials in industry, preferably in the aerospace sector.
- Certifications: Six-sigma certification is highly desirable.
- Testing Experience: Mechanical testing experience, including tensile, compression, and fracture testing, is required.
