The Role

We're seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our community-based team in Middlesbrough. As a key member of our team, you'll provide high-quality care and support to patients and their families, promoting independence and dignity throughout their journey.

Working without close supervision, you'll have the opportunity to use your initiative and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care. You'll be required to carry out a range of care duties, including assisting with medications, monitoring symptoms, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality care and support to patients and their families
  • Assisting with medications and monitoring symptoms
  • Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and their loved ones
  • Working collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement personalized care plans

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 6 months' experience in a health or social care environment
  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification
  • Functional skills at level 2 in numeracy and literacy or equivalent
  • Recent experience of providing care and caring for people with life-limiting illnesses or palliative care needs

We offer a competitive salary, £25,587 per annum, plus enhancements for weekend and evening shifts. You'll also receive a range of benefits, including:
