This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Learning Support Assistant at Ad Warrior, a reputable School in Cambridge. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 learning support primarily to a specific child, whilst also working with small groups as required.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping pupils with special educational needs and disabilities achieve their true potential. You will work under the direction of the Class Teacher and Head of Learning Support to support the children's wellbeing and educational progress.
The role involves supporting children assigned to you and liaising with teaching staff about their understanding and progress. You will also plan and prepare resources for sessions as required, deliver 1:1 or small group support within the classroom, and ensure children's personal or educational targets or Educational Health Care Plan are supported.
In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that all school resources are maintained in good order and may be asked to help out with staff cover arrangements as directed by the Deputy Head. You will also take a proactive role in the pastoral life of the children in the school, promoting the general progress and well-being of all pupils in our care and implementing the School's Behaviour and Discipline policy.
We offer a very competitive salary of £16,802 - £17,296 per annum and a wide range of opportunities for personal and professional development. We want our staff to feel engaged and purposeful so that they, in turn, help pupils to be happy and successful.
To succeed in this role, you will need patience, a 'can do' attitude and the adaptability needed to work successfully in a 3-11 school environment. You will also need excellent inter-personal and organisational skills, clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and also independently.
