Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated ULD Specialist to enhance our Cargo Operations. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to engage in the dynamic field of aviation cargo management.

Compensation and Schedule

Salary: £33,000 per annum
Working Hours: 0900 to 1730, Monday to Saturday in the first week and Tuesday to Friday in the second week.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Load Control or ULD Management
  • Proactive and able to maintain composure under pressure
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Familiarity with SQL/VBA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Airport or Air Cargo operations
Key Responsibilities

As a ULD Specialist, you will:

  • Oversee and manage the availability of ULD stock for both Cargo and Passenger Operations globally, collaborating with Revenue Optimization, Operations, and Load Planning teams.
  • Handle airside and cargo inventory at LHR, coordinating equipment transportation with Ground Handling Agents.
  • Work with Cargo Operations Managers to establish and influence budgetary guidelines, ensuring passenger operations are considered.
  • Allocate and publish equipment configurations for each flight based on aircraft specifications, passenger counts, cargo types, and optimal cargo arrangements.
  • Enhance cargo revenue through thorough analysis of baggage flow data across all stations.
  • Continuously improve allocation publishing, forecasting tools, and agent release tools related to ULD Control.
  • Monitor the performance of the Offshore Team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy through KPI tracking.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Offshore Team to ensure process comprehension and adherence.
  • Model best practices in process mapping to optimize Offshore Team performance.
  • Ensure ongoing improvement and updates of all processes and documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive process documentation for ULD Control tasks to guarantee business continuity.
  • Advise on best practices for equipment release to Cargo Agents.
  • Track ULD assets and data using the Offshore Team, automated messaging, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee the integration of messages into the ULD Management system, collaborating with Airport, Cargo, and Load Planning teams for message optimization.
  • Analyze data on damaged equipment to ensure timely repairs and hold Cargo Agents and GHAs accountable for damage profiles.
  • Conduct quality checks on repair agent work and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Investigate and invoice damages to ULDs caused by customers and GHAs, maintaining records of incidents to identify trends and behavioral changes.
