About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing Support Worker to join our team at Riverside. As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to our customers, helping them to maintain and sustain their tenancies and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide housing-related support to customers, including helping them to maintain and sustain their tenancies, connecting them with employability coaches and other support agencies, and assisting them with managing their finances.
  • Work with customers to develop and implement bespoke support and move-on plans, involving key stakeholders as necessary.
  • Engage customers in regular planned reviews of their support and risk plans, or following an incident or significant change in their circumstances.
  • Assist customers with day-to-day support and tenancy-related matters, including identifying and promoting opportunities for employment, education, and training.
  • Signpost customers to appropriate external support services, including interventions such as food banks and other community resources.
  • Support customers to be 'tenancy ready' to enable successful move-on, and to be financially independent through budgeting plans and maximising income.
  • Empower customers to manage their own healthcare needs, ensuring appropriate contact with healthcare professionals.
  • Lead on support initiatives, including group work, and ensure the safety of our customers by following local safeguarding procedures.
  • Record and update clear, factual, accurate, and strengths-based customer information on the local or appropriate digital platform.
Requirements
  • An understanding of the barriers faced by vulnerable and diverse customer groups and individuals with complex needs.
  • Experience of delivering structured support and risk management.
  • A team player with a caring, empathetic, flexible, and resilient, can-do attitude.
  • Previous experience in positively resolving incidents.
  • Demonstrate initiative and confidence to make and act on decisions.
  • Competent administrative and IT skills, including the ability to produce reports and other communications.
