Job Title: Special Needs Teacher

Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and qualified teacher to teach learners with complex needs and challenging behaviors. The ideal candidate will have past experience of teaching in an SEND, complex needs setting.

The post is in an organization's college which caters for young adults aged 19-25 years, with complex needs. You will need to be able to foster strong relationships with the students and have a passion for supporting those with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored support and working with children with SEN and complex needs
  • Personal care
  • Creating a safe environment
  • Managing and diffusing challenging behavior

Requirements:

  • Experience of teaching pupils with SEN and specifically those with complex needs and challenging behaviors
  • QTS and PGCE
  • Experience of Makaton or similar teaching methods
  • Driven, energetic and keen to pursue a career in education and special needs

Contract Details:

  • Contract Type: Temporary (9 months possibly extending to 12 months)
  • Minimum Daily Rate: £97
  • Hours: Full time Monday - Friday 8am-4pm term-time only, part-time of no less than 4 days may be considered

To be considered for this role, you will have to register with Prospero Teaching and complete a Child & Adult DBS which is on the update service, unless you already have one.
