Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Resettlement Coordinator to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. The successful candidate will work closely with a Local Authority in Enfield to assist with the appointment of a Specialist Resettlement Coordinator on a 3-month contract, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Proactive Person-Centred Outcome-Focused Case Management: Ensure our duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act are met, providing a comprehensive and end-to-end case management approach.
  • Comprehensive Assessments and Personal Housing Plans: Undertake thorough assessments that lead to focused and coproduced Personal Housing Plans (PHP) for each applicant.
  • Assessment and Decision-Making: Assess applicants under the prevention and relief duties, issue S.184 final decision letters, and ensure effective communication and management of expectations with customers.
  • Risk Management and Safeguarding: As appropriate, undertake the assessment and completion of high-quality risk management plans for applicants, utilizing information from a range of stakeholders and the applicant themselves.
  • Safeguarding Concerns: Minimize risk by identifying, reporting, and following up any safeguarding concerns.
Requirements
  • Significant Knowledge of Safeguarding Best Practice: Possess significant knowledge of safeguarding best practice, including policy strategies, legislation, and case law, and its implementation within a statutory homelessness service.
  • Specialist Homelessness Casework Experience: Have significant experience of providing specialist homelessness casework to single homeless applicants with more complex needs, such as applicants leaving institutions, including prisons and hospitals.
  • Collaborative Working: Possess significant experience of working collaboratively to improve outcomes for single homeless applicants with more complex needs, such as applicants leaving institutions.
  • Customer Service: Ability to consistently deliver high levels of customer service to single homeless applicants with more complex needs.
  • Legislation and Policy Compliance: Ability and experience of ensuring all aspects of casework are carried out in accordance with legislation, strategies, policies, and initiatives set out at the national, regional, and local level.
  • Performance Objectives: Ability and experience of consistently achieving performance objectives in the provision of specialist homelessness casework.
  • Best Practice Embedding: Ability to contribute to the identification, dissemination, and embedding of existing and emerging best practice within the team and across the wider Housing Advisory Service.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders, including applicants, members, partners, and soon.
  • Welfare, Homelessness, and Housing Policy Knowledge: Possess significant knowledge of welfare, homelessness, and housing policy strategies, legislation, and case law, and its implementation within a statutory homelessness service.

  • Availability: Be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • Right to Work in the UK: Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS: This role requires an enhanced DBS.
