About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned mental health professional to work closely with schools, parents, and carers to promote positive mental health and well-being among young people. As a Senior Mental Health Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team that delivers high-quality mental health services to meet the needs of this vulnerable population.

The role focuses on early identification and prevention of mental health issues, as well as providing advice and training to school staff on whole-school approaches to mental health promotion. You will work collaboratively to empower school staff to support young people to thrive by enabling them to identify and address emerging mental health concerns.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide mental health support and services to children and young people in educational settings
  • To work closely with schools, parents, and carers to promote positive mental health and well-being among young people
  • To provide advice and training to school staff on whole-school approaches to mental health promotion

You will have experience of working with children and young people with mental health and emotional needs in education settings, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health, as well as experience of multi-disciplinary working within a mental health setting, would be advantageous.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A degree in a relevant field (e.g. psychology, social work, occupational therapy)Significant experience of working with children and young people with mental health and emotional needs in education settingsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA strong understanding of child and adolescent mental healthBenefits

We offer a competitive salary, 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and up to date professional registration/membership (to be maintained). Additionally, we provide opportunities for continuing professional development in the field of child and adolescent mental health.

Salary: £37,338 - £44,962 per annum pro rata, dependent on experience
