About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Broker Technician to join their team in London. As a Broker Technician, you will play a key role in providing technical support to clients and colleagues, preparing renewal statistics and documentation, and creating global market and client documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to clients and colleagues, addressing client and technical issues related to the (re)insurance market.
  • Prepare renewal statistics and documentation for market placement, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Create and prepare global market and client documentation, including slips, wording, and clauses.
  • Assist with drafting client evidence of coverage, including debit/credit notes, and produce monthly reports and statistics.
  • Maintain and update internal paper and electronic systems, databases, and workflows, using internal systems to produce documents and accounting entries.
  • Submit slips and LPANs to relevant bureaus and assist with client liaison, ensuring queries are handled promptly.
  • Develop business relationships with global markets, clients, and colleagues, and continuously review client service delivery.

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of the (re)insurance market and experience working as a Broker Technician, ideally with previous experience producing slips for the Energy business.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • CII qualified or working towards CII qualification, with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience as a Processing Technician is desirable.
